Dear Endorsers of the National Pain Care Policy Act,
By signing the Consensus Statement, your organization has joined with others to show strong support for the National Pain Care Policy Act of 2005 (H.R. 1020) and the pain issues it addresses. The American Pain Foundation and the Pain Care Forum in cooperation with Representative Mike Rogers (R-MI) are pleased to announce:
A Congressional Briefing
THE EPIDEMIC OF PAIN IN AMERICA
June 13, 2006

The purpose of the briefing is to educate Congress on the serious need for federal policy reform affecting pain management. It is critical to generate large Congressional attendance, in order to:
-Increase their awareness of pain as a major public health problem
-Provide an understanding of the extensive barriers to effective pain management
-Educate congress on the critical need to improve access to pain management treatment.
-Provide information about the serious need to increase healthcare professional pain management education
-Alert them to the impact of current pain policy
-Urge congressional support for research about the causes of and treatments for pain
-Increase co-sponsorship of H.R.1020, the National Pain Care Policy Act
This is our opportunity to EDUCATE CONGRESS ON THE TRAGIC PERSONAL AND ECONOMIC EFFECTS OF THE UNDERTREATMENT OF PAIN!
